Buddhists's Hate Akon!!!

Singer Akon had to postpone his April concert in Sri Lanka after the island's nation's government said they planned to deny his visa. This announcement followed a violent incident on Monday were more than 200 protestors in the city of Colombo threw rocks at the offices of Akon's concert promoter's. Some were carrying signs that read "Stop Akon Now", they broke windows and hit cars parked near the buildings. Four employees were reportedly injured. The protestors were upset by Akon's viedo "sexy Chick" where it features woman in bathing suits dancing in front of a Buddha statue during a pool scene. The clip "triggered a lot of disappointment among Buddhists all over the world" a government spokesperson said in a statement. To bad for Akon because more than 60% of Sri Lanka's population is Buddhist. Protestors have previously resorted to violence when they felt disrespect had been shown toward the religion. Theres even a "We Hate Akon" page on Facebook which has more than 12,000 members. Now thats being a little harsh don't you think? "I was not aware that the statue was even on the set of the video until now" Akon said in a statement Wednesday. "I would never set out to offend or desecrate anyone's religion or religious beliefs." "I myself am a spiritual man, so I can understand why they are offended" the singer added. "But violence is never the answer and I am disheartened." Well Mr. Akon you should have done your research so things like this don't happen. I wonder how long it will take for the people to overcome this?
Erykah Badu promotes individualism
Erykah Badu was in Dallas' Dealey Plaza at the site of President John F. Kennedy's assassination to film her music video for her song "Window Seat." In her video Badu disrobes as she walks down a busy street midday and the funny part is the passersby aren't video extras but real life pedestrians who mainly ignore her except for a man who picks up some of her clothes and a woman who stares while holding the hand of a toddler boy. The scene was inspired by Matt & Kim's "Lessons Learned" video where the group undresses in Times Square. In her video by the time she reaches the spot where Kennedy was killed she is completely nude, you hear a gun shot, her head crocks back, and she falls to the ground and the words "Group Think" bleed from her head in blue ink. "Its a comfort zone that we create for ourselves, and i go outside of that comfort zone" says Badu to the Wall Street Journal. Badu does admit that she feels some anxiety for the children who were present and hopes they wont be traumatized. However she did talk to her three children and their fathers beforehand and received their support. "Window Seat' is a song about being liberated from I think mostly ourselves," Badu told the Wall Street Journal. "In the video I shed a lot of emotion, a lot of baggage by way of shedding clothing. I do this in the middle of a busy street which is totally probably something that is not accepted in society, thus the definition of not conforming to what society would expect you to do." I like how she is trying to prove a message but I do agree that those kids shouldn't have been subjected to seeing her naked body.
Crack Kills...Literally!!!
Poor Whitney Houston just doesn't have it like she use to back in the days with her voice. The singer admitted to having problems with her voice Sunday night during a performance at London's O2. In the middle of her song "I will always love you" Houston said " she just don't want to come, my soprano friend." It was the opening night for her "nothing but love" tour and her first performance at the venue since 1999 but it was not cutting it for fans. Houston who blamed the O2's air conditioning for the problem, reportedly sang just parts of some songs, appeared out of breath, and relied on her background singers to fill in. This is not like the old Whitney I'm use to hearing where she would hit every note and was on point. If her voice isn't cutting it for audiences honestly what does she have left? Its sure not her dancing, she was never known for being able to dance. It was noted that hundreds of the sold-out crowd walked out of the O2 in disappointment. I don't how you feel but I really don't want my expectation of Whitney to go down so i really think she should take break and rest her voice before coming on stage because with todays generation like Beyonce and Rihanna its hard to keep up with these younger acts and Ms. Houston you do not want to get run over.
